Major McKinley rode in a carriage with some of the speakers during the first parade. When his home was reached he, with State Republican Chairman Charles S. Kurtz, left the carriage and, with General Hastings, Sylvester E. Everett, Judge Baldwin, Mrs. McKinley and Mrs Heist, and, from a temporary stand in the door yard, reviewed the long line of marchers interspersed with music by quartettes, glee clubs and bands.
