RAWTENSTALL

Le cinématographe de William Clark (juin 1898)

C'est à l'occasion de la foire du mois de juin, que William Clark présente son cinématographe :

On the Lancashire round news of Rawtenstall Wakes is to hand. The shows were Clarke's Cinematograph and war pictures, Sedgwick's Nº. 2 Menagerie, Prince Samouda, the Esoteric Cult and Mahatma Temple of Magic, and Kemp's midget show. The machines were T. Holden's steam horses and steam yachts. The other fair ground novelties included Mrs Cornwell's and Harrison Brother's shooting galleries and a host of small novelty games. We hear that Mr Kemp started, a subscription list to help Mr D'Osta, and so kindly anticipated our appeal of last week.
The Era - Saturday 25 June 1898, p. 18

Les vues de la guerre font sans doute référence au conflit hispano-américain qui se déroule à Cuba en 1898.
